Doing a post election link dump.
I promise real posts and some real good stuff coming up next, including an explanation of this picture.
• Scroll down to the bottom of this article by Springfield home town paper’s political columnist Bernie and click on the video. Then skip forward to the last minute and watch the big shout out they give to my mother and her cookies. I’d say a good majority of readers of the blog have had at least one and know they are well worth their fame. Those of you, who haven’t, take a look and see what you’re missing.
• Obama is Beautiful World – In an election watched the world over leave it to the Japanese to come up with the most bizarre tribute to the president elect. If you don’t click anything else, watch this.
• 21st Century Dick Size Politics – Justin Wood, VJ extraordinaire and long time associate of Wounded Buffalo Theory got on air on the Howard Stern Show with this three minute contest winning political commentary. Lots of NSFW and potentially offensive language so be warned.
• Lando Calrissian vs. The Emperor: Presidential Attack Ads – I dunno if the best part is the “Paid for by A-Wing pilots for Truth” or the ad on global warming’s effect on the Taun-Taun population of Hoth or the fact that they got Billy Dee Williams to do this.
•Where were you when – A collection of videos from concerts on election night showing artists like Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins and Madonna interrupting their shows to announce Obama’s victory and the crowd reactions.
•The Budweiser Wazzzzup Guys return with an amazing Obama ad.
• Diego Maradona’s Religion – Rabid fans of the soccer superstar have started a church to him that celebrated his birthday with a service that included a football crowned with thorns.
•Haka vs Aboriginal War Dance – I always thought there was no more intimidating pregame ritual in sports than New Zealand’s Haka but then someone had to go ahead and introduce spears into it. By the end it really looks like someone is gonna die.
•Louie Armstrong sings “Super Mario World” – Its every bit as awesome as it sounds.
•Man kills wife and kid because they spent too much time with Mormons – Guess I shouldn’t take my parents indulgence of my Mormon fascination for granted.
•Speaking of Mormons, more on how much the Plucky QB and BYU still hate each other.
• M.I.A. – Way Down in the Hole. I know this is a real video heavy post but how can you pass up the chance to pass on MIA covering the theme song of The Wire.
• Long time friend and former roommate Noah Brier made the New York Times with a story on the worldwide coffee meet up he started a few years ago.
• And finally, last video link but this a capella tribute to John Williams is one of the funniest damn things I have ever seen and also seems like it had to be incredibly difficult to do.
